Taking your San Jose Costa Rica car rental to Lapa Rios Ecolodge

The 7-10 hour drive from San Jose to Lapa Rios Ecolodge is full of scenery that you won're want to miss. Leaving from San Jose, take the Inter-American Pan Am Highway (Ruta 2) to San Isidro de General. Go through Buenos Aires and Palmar Norte. Turn right in Chacarita (33 kilometers past Palmar Norte) directly after the Corcovado service station. This road travels to Puerto Jimez through Rincon (where the pavement ends) and La Palma. When you reach Puerto Jimez, check in at the Lapa Rios Ecolodge office located at the corner of the airport landing strip and the cemetery. If you lose your way, anyone in Puerto Jimez will be able to direct you to the office. Once you check in, you'll be given directions for the rest of the way.
