A little history

It was just 10 years ago when the current location of the Papagayo Golf & Country Club was used for graxing cattle after sustained deforestation was introduced. The first steps were taken to restore this zone was the reforestation of the area with more than 5000 native trees being planted. Methods were developed to take advantage of the rain rain water. Special grass with lower water needs was also chosen while the residences at the golf course were planned with high environmental standards.

Becoming environmentally friendly

The abundance of nature, combined with world class surroundings and services have made Papagayo Golf & Country Club a unique experience. In recognition of it's wildlife friendly design, Papagayo Golf & Country Club has received an ecological distinction award from the Audubon Society.

Amenities

The Papagayo Golf & Country Club offer several amenities including a Driving Range that you are free to use whenever you want. Grab a large or small bucket of balls to warm up before heading out on the course with your car rentals in Costa Rica. For your comfort, the driving range is covered from the hot Costa Rican sun. You will also find a 9 Hole Putting and Chipping Green for Golfers that want to practice the other half of the game before heading out to the Golf Course.

Taking a dip

Just 50 feet away from the Club House you will find huge swimming pool. Complete with a waterfall, swim up bar and underwater barstools how can you resist the cool and refreshing water when you travel with your car rentals in Costa Rica. It's the perfect place to enjoy a nice refreshing swim after being out all day on the course. Monkeying around

At the Papagayo Golf & Country Club you will also find the famous Monkey Bar. It has long been a Playa Hermosa landmark and is now at the Papagayo Golf & Country Club. The Monkey Bar was carefully and meticulously deconstructed, board by board, labeled, and relocated here exactly as it was in Playa Hermosa. You will find a brand new thatched roof that completes the transformation. The Monkey Bar, swimming pool and barbeque area can also be reserved for private parties and events when you travel with your car rentals in Costa Rica.

Before you go?

The Papagayo Golf & Country Club is open Tuesday to Sunday 6:30am to 5 pm. It is closed on Mondays. Prices begin at $25 for member and $35 for non-members. Golf carts are mandatory.
