Take a tour of the Butterfly Farm
Rental car Costa Rica travelers are welcome to explore the Butterfly Farm facility as part of a guided tour. Tours begin with a 25-minute introductory film, outlining the various stages of a butterfly's life cycle. The film is shot using macro photography and is excellent in that it provides viewers with details normally unavailable to the human eye. From there, rental car Costa Rica travelers will visit the Export Office, where staff sort, pack, and export pupae to other butterfly conservatories around the world. Then it's onto the main event, the Butterfly Garden. This enclosed tropical garden is home to more than a thousand butterflies, including many unique Costa Rican species. Visitors are encouraged to touch the legs of the butterflies, as well as investigate the different types of flora growing in the garden. The tour finishes with a visit to the Caterpillar Room, where, if you're lucky, you'll get to see a butterfly emerge from a chrysalide and embark on its maiden flight.
