Turu BaRi Tropical Park is a relatively new eco-adventure theme park that first opened its doors on April 5th, 2003. Located near the west end of the Central Valley in San Jose, Turu BaRi means ¡°river of the clear moon¡± in the Heutar language. Turu BaRi Tropical Park is made up of 496 acres of forest and nature in the village of San Juan de Mata, near Turrubares, San Mateo and Orotina. The park is surrounded by beautiful scenery; it is surrounded to the northeast by the River Rio Grande de Tarcoles, to the southeast by the Turrubars hillsides and the Carara National Park. The most thrilling thing in the park is definitely the canopy tour that is over 4910 feet tall.
Exploring the park
During the Aerial Tram ride you can see the entire tropical garden, the surrounding areas and the Rio Grande de Tarcoles. You will also visit some nature trails, botanical gardens and butterfly garden that is comprised by an impressive 1.150 square-meter structure, which makes this one of the largest butterfly gardens in the country.
